FRACTAIS TROPICAIS
Tropical fractals
UPCOMING FEATURE FILM
Whispers in the middle of outer space. In an interstellar journey, Brazilian archivists carry Earth’s last living remnants and their digitized copies. An intelligent system, Museo, becomes a portal into the crew’s diaries and a fractured archive of humanity. Below, a lone wanderer, perhaps the last man on Earth, roams a recovering planet Earth in ruins. Here, sounds and images collide replicas and their originals in a fractal dimension like waves crashing on the shoreline, transforming into galaxies.

In Leonardo Pirondi’s upcoming debut feature Fractais Tropicais, a small crew of Brazilian archivists aboard a biodome spaceship tend to Earth’s few living remnants in the aftermath of civilization’s collapse. (…) “I think there’s an anxiety that’s very particular to my generation, but also particular to anyone living in this time of wars and rising dictatorships,” he explains. “How can we, through cinema, create this possibility of a reset?" - Filmmaker Magazine, 25 New Faces of Independent Film 2025
